CH 13-1 READING QUIZ WILL BE GIVEN TUESDAY 4-22!!!
The 4th nine weeks has begun and the year's winding down. I would like to remind all the students who read this page that the year is NOT over! You still need to put forth your best and keep on trying.
We've finished the fall of Rome/Byzantine Empire. We're beginning our quick look at Africa as we close out the year. After Africa we're going to do the Dark Ages followed by the Renaissance and Reformation.
We're going to be changing how things are done a little. For the whole year we've had material presented and then an open note quiz which served as a study guide for the test. However, we're going to now go to a test only policy in which students will be responsible for studying all material on their own. This is to create a greater increase in student initiative to do quality work in class since work done in class during discussion time or group processing will be the sole source of study material. This is to get the students better prepared for the transgression to high school.
Also, the ch. 9 test will consist of a few multiple choice questions and direct application questions from graphic organizers done in class. In addition, essay questions which require the student to formulate an independent opinion and show evidence based on knowledge learned through class instruction will also be on the upcoming exam.
I've tried for a few weeks now to stress the importance of not becoming too slack in habits or academic initiative as the year is NOT over. From here the remaining work is expected to gain in difficulty to better prepare students for next year.

All Warmups are to be completed and turned in at the end of the week for a homework grade.
